Drone found near Moldova-Ukraine border as Russian attacks escalate.

A drone has been found in a field near the village of Salcia in Taraclia district, close to Moldova’s border with Ukraine, according to Moldpres, citing the Main Police Inspectorate.

Authorities have cordoned off the area, and explosives experts are currently on-site conducting an investigation.

“After an initial examination, no explosives were found on the drone. Therefore, there is no threat to public safety in the region. The investigation is ongoing,” the inspectorate stated.

Police have urged citizens who come across crashed aircraft or other suspicious devices to avoid approaching or handling them and to report them immediately by calling emergency number 112.

Meanwhile, Ukrinform reports that on the evening of February 11, Russian forces launched Iskander-M ballistic missiles and S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles at Kyiv and Kryvyi Rih. Additionally, 123 Shahed drones and other drone simulators were used in the attack.

As of 8:30 a.m. on February 12, Ukrainian forces had successfully shot down six Iskander-M missiles and 71 strike drones, along with 40 enemy drone simulators, which caused no additional damage.

Regions affected by the airstrikes included Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk (Kryvyi Rih), Sumy, Poltava, and Chernihiv.

Additionally, on February 3, Moldova’s Ministry of Defense reported that an unmanned aerial vehicle had violated the country’s airspace overnight.
