It’s not just Instagram facing downtime; users are also reporting issues with Threads, another platform owned by Meta.
In the last few minutes, there has been a surge in reports from users experiencing problems on Threads. This comes shortly after thousands of reports from across the globe started to indicate issues with Instagram, also a Meta-owned platform.
In the USA, it’s particularly the Midwest and the East Coast reporting problems, but there are also reports of downtime on the West Coast in cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and others.
According to Downdetector, 81% of users are reporting issues with the app, 14% are reporting problems with the feed, and 5% are reporting issues with their profile on Threads.
Meta has not yet announced what the current issues are with either Instagram or Threads, but the influx of reports from users worldwide suggests that this could be a larger problem.
