A stray dog named Angel endured a heartbreaking ordeal after being abandoned alive in a sewer.

Discovered in a well in Bali, he was in a deteriorating condition — emaciated, dehydrated, and covered in wounds with nearly no fur.

Angel was on the brink of death when rescued by animal welfare advocates.

The organization "The Dogs of Bali" found the dog, who had already suffered a tragic series of missteps.

Before being discarded, well-meaning individuals had tried to help Angel but mistakenly overdosed him with medication.

Stayed By His Side Constantly

This unintentional mistake left his body unable to cope, and those who initially tried to help eventually lost hope, dumping Angel into the sewer like trash.

Despite the grim circumstances, rescuers at "The Dogs of Bali" refused to give up.

Angel was taken to a veterinary clinic, where he received warming treatments and an infusion to remove toxins from his system. One of the rescuers stayed by his side constantly, offering comfort and love.

"I stayed with him late into the night and again in the morning, just to show him he wasn’t alone and that he was loved," shared the emotional post on Instagram.

Sadly, just two days later, Angel passed away in the arms of his rescuer.

To honor him, the organization placed a wreath of flowers at the spot where he was found, ensuring his memory would not be forgotten.

Bali’s stray dog population is a significant issue. Many dogs, while technically owned, are treated as working animals rather than pets.

Financial hardships prevent many families from providing proper care, including sterilization. As a result, stray populations continue to grow, overwhelming local animal welfare groups like "The Dogs of Bali."
