According to Bill Lambert of The Kennel Club, the type of dog you prefer can reflect some key aspects of your character.
Lambert explains that many people unknowingly gravitate toward breeds that mirror their personalities, as reported by The Express.
"It seems that we can often tell a lot about a person by the type of dog they own," says Lambert, who also founded Discover Dogs.
What Different Breeds Say About You
Jack Russell Terrier: If you’re drawn to the loyal and lively Jack Russell, you’re likely a loyal, helpful, and attentive listener.
Cocker Spaniel: Cocker Spaniel fans are often family-oriented, creative, and full of curiosity.
Springer Spaniel: Those with a springer spaniel tend to be punctual and appreciate tradition, with a strong sense of responsibility.
Border Terrier: If you own a border terrier, chances are you’re active, outgoing, and known for your charm.
Pomeranian: This breed is often chosen by people who are naturally friendly, outgoing, and love to socialize.
While it’s fun to think of our pets as reflections of ourselves, Lambert also warns against choosing a dog based solely on appearance or personality.
Up to 50% of dog owners, the survey found, struggle to meet their dog’s exercise or grooming needs, underscoring the importance of considering a breed’s requirements before making a commitment.
