Tesla CEO Elon Musk has condemned a recent arson and shooting attack on a Tesla facility in Las Vegas, calling the wave of violence targeting the company and its customers “insane.”

The attack occurred late Tuesday night just a few kilometers from The Strip, when one or more suspects set several cars on fire and opened fire on the facility.

According to police, Molotov cocktails were likely used to ignite the blaze, which damaged at least five vehicles, two of which were completely destroyed.

“This was a targeted attack on a Tesla facility. We believe it is isolated at this time,” said Assistant Police Chief Dori Koren of the Las Vegas Police Department, speaking to NBC News.

“We do not believe there is any further threat to the public.”

“We’ve Never Done Anything Harmful”

Elon Musk responded to the incident multiple times on his social platform X, where he denounced the violence. He later appeared on Fox News, where he voiced shock and frustration — and pointed fingers at what he described as politically motivated hatred.

“It really came as a shock to me that there is this level of hatred and violence from the left,” Musk said during the interview. “I always thought that the left and the Democrats would be the party of empathy and caring.”

While there is no official evidence pointing to any specific group or motive, Musk believes the attacks go beyond simple vandalism.

“They burn cars at dealerships. They shoot bullets at cars, they smash Teslas,” he said. “Tesla is a peaceful company; we’ve never done anything harmful. I’ve never done anything harmful. We’ve only done productive things.”

This isn’t the first time Tesla has been the target of violence or vandalism. In recent months, there have been multiple reports of Teslas being damaged or targeted, often while parked or at service centers.

Musk now suspects there may be a coordinated campaign behind the attacks.

“I think there are bigger forces behind it. Who is funding it, who is coordinating it? Because this is crazy. I’ve never seen anything like it,” he told Fox News.

Authorities have not publicly identified any suspects in the Las Vegas case, but a few individuals have reportedly been arrested in connection with other recent attacks on Tesla vehicles.
