Fiat has introduced a new feature in its latest electric car, the Fiat Grande Panda: an integrated charging cable.

This innovative design allows the cable to be pulled out from the front of the car like a telephone cord, eliminating the need for separate storage and reducing the risk of forgetting the cable at charging stations.

The integrated cable is specifically designed for AC charging with an output of up to 11 kW.

For drivers who need faster charging, the car also includes a separate plug on the side capable of handling up to 100 kW at fast-charging stations.

The Fiat Grande Panda is a compact crossover, positioned as a budget-friendly option in the electric vehicle market.

It shares a platform with the Citroën ë-C3 and is expected to be priced around 25,000 euros, or just over $27,000, making it a direct competitor to other affordable electric cars like the Renault 5 E-Tech and Volkswagen ID.2.

The first models are expected to be available in select countries this autumn.

A Practical Design

Measuring 3.99 meters in length and 1.76 meters in width, the Fiat Grande Panda is compact but practical, offering five seats and a 361-liter luggage compartment.

It also features 13 liters of extra storage space in front of the passenger seat.

Powered by a 44 kWh battery and an 83 kW electric motor (equivalent to approximately 120 horsepower), the Grande Panda offers a range of about 310 kilometers according to the WLTP standard, which is sufficient for most daily driving needs.
