The Nürburgring circuit is known for its tough challenges and legendary reputation. It is a place where car manufacturers push their vehicles to the limit.

Recently, Ford made an impressive achievement with the Mustang GTD, writes Motor. This American-made car set a new record on the 20.8-kilometer northern section of the track, proving itself as a serious contender.

The Ford Mustang GTD now holds the distinction of being the first American production car to complete the Nürburgring in less than seven minutes.

With a time of 6 minutes and 57.685 seconds, it’s a major achievement in the world of high-performance cars.

The Mustang GTD was created to compete with rivals like the Porsche 911 GT3, which holds a record of 6 minutes and 55 seconds. Though the Mustang didn’t quite beat that time, it came very close.

Ford’s target was to beat the Porsche 911 GT3’s record. However, even with a time just two seconds slower, the Mustang GTD is still a remarkable car.

The 73 curves of the Nürburgring make it a difficult challenge, but the Mustang’s performance is a statement in itself.

The car features a powerful 815 horsepower engine, carbon fiber body, and advanced suspension and braking systems, making it a beast on the track.

This record-breaking Mustang is one of the few that exist worldwide. It is part of an exclusive group of cars that have set the fastest times for production vehicles at the Nürburgring.

It joins a small club of cars that have broken the seven-minute lap record, including some versions of the Porsche 918 Spyder and the Lamborghini Aventador.

The Mustang GTD’s performance is a direct result of Ford’s dedication to excellence. During testing in August, the car pushed the limits with help from Ford’s engineers and Multimatic, reaching a performance level that few other cars can match.

While Ford may still have its eyes set on the Porsche 911 GT3’s record, the Mustang GTD has already proven itself as one of the most powerful and fastest American production cars in history.
