New Android Auto Update Rolling Out – Here’s What Drivers Should Know.

The update promises improved stability, but it may take time before everyone receives it.

Google has begun a wide rollout of Android Auto version 14.1 – an update designed to fix several software bugs and provide a more stable user experience. If you’ve recently experienced issues with your car’s infotainment system, it’s recommended to update as soon as possible.

According to the website Teksiden.no, the update is gradually becoming available via the Play Store. You can also manually check for version 14.1 and download it directly if it’s available for your device.

More Features Coming – But Not Just Yet

Google is also testing the next version of Android Auto, which will introduce additional features in the future. Among the upcoming tools in development are temperature and defrost controls, as well as deeper integration with the AI-powered assistant, Gemini.

None of these features are included in the 14.1 update, but they could appear in future versions.

Three Handy Features You Might Not Be Using Enough

Android Auto offers more than just navigation. Here are a few built-in features that can make your driving experience easier:

  • Voice-controlled navigation: Just say where you want to go, and the system will plan your route – completely hands-free.
  • App integration: Play music via Spotify, send messages with WhatsApp, or listen to audiobooks – all from your car’s screen.
  • Real-time traffic alerts: Google Maps notifies you of traffic jams, accidents, and roadwork – and even suggests faster alternative routes.

Still haven’t received the update? It’s being rolled out in phases, so it might take a few weeks before it reaches all users.
