Renault Group has announced plans to hire 500 additional employees for a new night shift at its Montaje factory in Valladolid, Spain, starting at the end of October.

500 Employees added in July

This move comes as a result of the commercial success of the recently launched models, the Nuevo Captur and the Symbioz, which have spurred a significant increase in production and staffing, according to El Economista.

The Valladolid plant, which has been producing the Captur model since 2012, has experienced a remarkable boost in its workforce over the past three months.

The new hires will complement the 500 employees added in July, who were brought on board to support the expansion to a full two-shift production schedule.

With these new additions, the plant will operate at 2.5 shifts, enhancing its capacity to meet the expected rise in production demands.

Hopes to Return to Previous Productions

The Captur has been a leading urban crossover in Europe, with over 2.3 million units produced.

The introduction of the Nuevo Captur and the Symbioz models has driven this hiring surge, as Renault seeks to sustain its competitive edge in the hybrid market. These two new models have not only boosted sales but also led to a significant increase in staffing at the Valladolid facility.

Interested candidates can apply for positions at Renault Group by submitting their resumes through www.motordeempleo.com. The company is seeking automotive operators, forklift drivers, welders, painters, and finishers.

The announcement of the new night shift and additional hires is viewed positively by the UGT-Reanult union, which notes that it will help the factory return to its previous production level of 1,115 vehicles per day.

The reinstitution of the night shift will also help restore employment levels not seen since November 28, 2022, when the night shift was previously discontinued.

Additionally, Comisiones Obreras indicates that 200 of the 500 new hires have already been recruited and that new maintenance and injection molding shifts will also be established.
