The new Tesla Model 3 is one of the best electric sedans on the market, but it has faced criticism for its lack of traditional stalk controls for wipers, turn signals, and cruise control.

Stalks are Now Available

Now, owners have an opportunity to retrofit their vehicles with these familiar features, according to Trend.

For those contemplating a purchase of the new Tesla Model 3 Highland or who already own one and dislike the steering wheel buttons, aftermarket stalks are now available.

While some drivers have adapted to the button controls, many find them frustrating. The absence of traditional stalks has raised safety concerns, especially in high-pressure driving situations like navigating roundabouts.

Neglecting to Signal

Miscommunication with turn signals can lead to unsafe driving conditions, with some drivers inadvertently signaling the wrong direction or neglecting to signal altogether.

The aftermarket stalks closely resemble those from earlier Model 3 versions. They look and feel almost identical to the originals, although the tactile feedback may not be exactly the same. Additionally, the new stalks are positioned about 10 mm farther from the steering wheel, which might take some getting used to.

These stalks can currently be purchased online. However, installation is not included in the price.

Owners can opt to install the stalks themselves or make a trip to their nearest autoshop, to have them professionally installed.
