Elon Musk is often described as controversial, and now he has drawn the attention of Yann LeCun, a prominent figure in artificial intelligence and head of AI at Meta.

Fails to Deliver

LeCun, recognized as a pioneer of convolutional neural networks, stated that while he does not harbor hatred for Musk, he detests the falsehoods that surround the Tesla CEO's claims about autonomous vehicles.

The criticism arises from a tweet by Dan O'Dowd, a software executive and a vocal critic of Tesla. O'Dowd, a five-time Tesla owner, referred to Musk as a "snake oil salesman," accusing him of perpetually promising fully autonomous vehicles but failing to deliver year after year, according to El Economista.

O'Dowd expressed frustration over Musk's repeated assurances that drivers would no longer be necessary in the near future, a promise that has yet to materialize.

In a recent statement, Musk had claimed that version 12 of Tesla's Full Self-Driving system would introduce a feature named "Actually Smart Summon" (ASS) within "a month or two."
