Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness have made the difficult decision to part ways after 27 years of matrimony.
The couple released a joint statement to People magazine, expressing their gratitude for the nearly three decades they've spent together.
"We're embarking on separate paths to focus on our personal growth," they said, adding that their family remains their top priority.
The couple, who share two children—Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18—first crossed paths in 1995 on the set of the Australian TV show "Correlli." Despite a 13-year age difference, with Furness being the older of the two, they felt an instant connection and married a year later.
On their most recent anniversary, Jackman posted a heartfelt message on social media, celebrating their love and family. "Your laughter, spirit, and courage are gifts to me. I love you wholeheartedly," he wrote.
However, fans had sensed something amiss when they noticed Furness alone in New York City, conspicuously without her wedding ring.
Dressed entirely in black, she was seen getting into a car, ringless.
The couple has stated that their initial announcement will be their only public comment on the matter. As they each begin a new chapter in their lives, we extend our best wishes to them.
