American stand-up comedian Hans Kim has sparked controversy and outrage on social media following his jokes about the late "Friends" star, Matthew Perry.

In a viral TikTok clip, Kim makes light-hearted remarks about Perry's tragic death, which occurred on October 28th when he was found lifeless in a jacuzzi at his Los Angeles home.

In the clip from a stand-up show, Kim quips, "Sad to hear the great Matthew Perry died alone in a hot tub. As a guy from a show called 'Friends', he could have used a few."

He further adds, "Who would have thought that the title song (from 'Friends') was his cry for help?" These comments, meant to be humorous, have divided opinions online.

While the audience at the show is heard laughing, many social media users expressed their disapproval in the comments section. Some criticized the joke as being too soon and in poor taste.

One user commented, "I need a dislike button on TikTok," and another remarked, "Low hanging fruit, man. A 10-year-old could have written that joke."

However, not all responses were negative. A few users defended Kim's attempt at humor, suggesting that Perry, known for his sense of humor, might have appreciated the joke himself.

The clip has since gone viral, reigniting discussions about the boundaries of comedy and respect for the deceased.
