Over the years, The Simpsons has garnered a reputation for its uncanny ability to predict future events.

Lisa Simpson as Female President

Fans of the show have pointed out countless instances where jokes or scenes from the beloved animated series later became reality.

From smartwatches to political predictions, these “prophecies” have become a popular topic online, fueling theories that The Simpsons writers have a knack for foreseeing the future, according to SE.

One particularly popular example dates back to an episode from the year 2000, in which Lisa Simpson becomes the first female President of the United States, taking office directly after a fictional “President Trump.”

Lisa mentions inheriting “quite a budget crunch from President Trump.” At the time, the reference was an absurd joke, as Donald Trump was known only as a businessman and reality TV personality.

However, after Trump’s presidency in 2016, fans began to revisit this episode as an eerie prediction. Now, as the 2024 election approaches, The Simpsons theory has reemerged, with fans speculating that this old episode could hint at the results.

Purple Suits

In the scene, Lisa wears a purple suit similar to the one Vice President Kamala Harris wore during her 2021 inauguration, leading fans to draw parallels between Lisa’s fictional presidency and a possible Harris victory in 2024.

Some interpret the episode as a sign that Harris might follow Trump as President, just as Lisa did in the show.

Others, however, think it could imply a second Trump victory, with Harris potentially succeeding him in a future election.

The Simpsons has "predicted" several events with remarkable accuracy, from virtual reality technology to high-profile animal attacks.

In a 1993 episode, for instance, a magician resembling Roy Horn from Siegfried & Roy is attacked by a white tiger on stage — a scenario that played out in real life in 2003 when Horn was severely injured in a similar incident.

In another episode from 1998, Homer writes a math equation on a chalkboard that closely resembles a formula connected to the discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012.

While the predictions are likely coincidences, fans can’t help but speculate, especially as new episodes continue to hint at real-life events, keeping The Simpsons and its "predictions" a favorite subject of pop culture discussion.
