Jessie Cave, best known for playing Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter film series, has announced she’s launching an OnlyFans account — but not the kind many might expect.

According to Euronews, the 37-year-old actress says the content will be non-sexual and focused entirely on hair-related material to appeal to fans with a specific interest in hair.

Speaking on her podcast Before We Break Up Again, Cave explained her decision candidly:

“I’m launching a hair OnlyFans – this is entirely for hair-based content. It’s very much geared towards people who have an interest, or fetish, with hair. It’s a fetish. Fetish doesn’t necessarily mean sexual.”

The account, which she says will showcase “the best quality hair sounds,” is part of a broader personal mission — not just to pay off debt, but to empower herself, reclaim control, and challenge industry expectations.

“Ripping Up the Good Little Actress Rule Book”

In a personal essay on her Substack, Cave opened up further about her motivations, describing the decision as both financial and deeply personal.

“One year. I’ll try for one year. My aim? To get the house safe, cover the arsenic/lead wallpaper, build a new roof etc. My aim? To get out of debt. My aim? To empower myself. To prove to those in the past who have misjudged me that I’m not so sweet.”

She added, with a wink to her past in the spotlight:

“Were my years of Harry Potter conventions in fact research? It feels like I’m doing something naughty, something a little messed up. I like that.”

Cave has appeared in various film and TV projects beyond Harry Potter, including Great Expectations, Black Mirror, and the horror-comedy series The Baby. But, like many artists, she's faced financial challenges in recent years, especially as the cost of living has soared and acting opportunities have become more scarce.

From Fandom to Financial Fix

Cave isn’t alone in turning to OnlyFans as an unconventional but increasingly normalized source of income.

Singer Lily Allen made headlines last year after revealing that her foot-themed OnlyFans account earns her more than streaming royalties from Spotify — despite having nearly 8 million monthly listeners on the platform.

“Don’t hate the player, hate the game,” Allen wrote on X.

Actress Drea de Matteo, best known for The Sopranos, previously credited OnlyFans with saving her home and helping her support her children during difficult times.

“OnlyFans saved my life, 100 percent. I just hope you never find yourself in the position I was in,” she told DailyMail.

Stars like Tyga, Iggy Azalea, and Cardi B have also used the platform to connect with fans and monetize exclusive content.

For Cave, the choice to explore a niche like hair-focused content isn’t just about financial recovery — it’s about freedom.

“I never really invested in myself before,” she wrote. “Now I’m choosing to.”
