Taylor Swift has donated $5 million to support relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricanes Milton and Helene, two devastating storms that have wreaked havoc on parts of the U.S.

Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot shared the news on the organization’s Instagram page on Wednesday.

She stated that Swift’s contribution will go toward providing food, clean water, and other essential supplies to those impacted by the disasters.

“This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover... Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead,” Babineaux-Fontenot wrote on Instagram.

Hurricanes Milton and Helene’s Destruction

Hurricane Milton is currently approaching Florida’s Gulf Coast, with meteorologists predicting it could become one of the most destructive storms in the region’s history.

The storm is expected to make landfall on Wednesday evening.

Just two weeks earlier, Hurricane Helene, a deadly Category 4 storm, struck Florida, causing catastrophic flooding and widespread damage across six states.

The storm left over 230 people dead, making it the second-deadliest hurricane to hit the U.S. mainland in the past 50 years, following Hurricane Katrina.

Joining Forces with Dolly Parton

Taylor Swift isn’t the only celebrity contributing to hurricane relief.

According to CNN, Country music icon Dolly Parton recently announced her own efforts to help those affected by Hurricane Helene.

Parton, along with her businesses Dollywood Parks & Resorts and Pirates Voyage, is partnering with Walmart to provide flood relief in the Appalachian region.

In addition, Parton pledged a personal donation of $1 million to the Mountain Ways Foundation, an organization focused on helping Helene’s flood victims. Her companies have also committed to matching her donation, bringing the total contribution to $2 million.
