Elijah Wood, best known for his iconic role as Frodo Baggins in "The Lord of the Rings," has recently been part of TV series like "Yellowjackets" and "The Afterparty."
Now, he's taking on a new role in the upcoming remake of the 1984 film "The Toxic Avenger," where he plays the villain Fritz Garbinger.
The first images from the film have been released, and fans are shocked by Wood's transformation.
In the pictures, Wood looks so different that people are commenting that he resembles a character who never took off the ring in "The Lord of the Rings" and is slowly turning into Smeagol.
The film's director, Macon Blair, has expressed that he hopes people will forget about Wood's previous roles when they see him in this new film. As of now, there is no official release date for "The Toxic Avenger."
