FGF Brands Inc. has recalled almost 12,000 cases of chocolate chip muffins sold at Aldi because they may contain undeclared walnuts.

This was reported by the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Recall Details

The recalled product, Aldi Bakeshop Chocolate Chip Muffin 4-count, was sold nationwide at Aldi stores.

The muffins have the lot number NF1 142Y and the UPC label 4099100048278.

Reason for Recall

The recall was issued after it was discovered that the muffins containing walnuts were packaged with labels that did not list walnuts as an ingredient.

This labeling error poses a risk for individuals with walnut allergies.

No illnesses have been reported yet.

An investigation revealed that the issue resulted from a temporary breakdown in the company’s production and packaging processes.

To keep consumers safe, production of the muffins has been stopped until the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and FGF Brands fix the issue.

If you bought the recalled muffins, return them to the store for a full refund.
