Hudson Harvest of Germantown, NY, has issued a voluntary recall of its Hudson Harvest Tomato Basil Sauce.

According to the FDA this decision comes after reports of swelling, leaking, or bursting jars, indicating that the product may have been underprocessed, potentially leading to contamination by spoilage organisms or pathogens.

Details of the Recall

The recalled tomato basil sauce was distributed to retailers in New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts during May and June 2024.

The product is packaged in 16-ounce glass jars bearing lot number 1042426 and UPC code 683720301567.

Consumers can find the UPC above the barcode and the lot number on the side of the jar.

Consumer Advisory

So far, there have been no reports of illnesses or adverse effects related to the consumption of this product. However, Hudson Harvest advises consumers not to use the sauce, even if it appears unaffected.

Customers who have purchased the recalled product should return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
