Dr. Lela Ahlemann, a renowned dermatologist, best-selling author, and specialist in aesthetic and nutritional medicine, has revealed her favorite winter beauty drink that promises radiant skin.

Her secret ingredient? Tomato paste.

This concentrated red puree is rich in lycopene, a powerful antioxidant that helps protect skin cells and DNA from damage by neutralizing harmful free radicals.

Lycopene, a natural red pigment found in tomatoes, is stored in the skin and provides protection against environmental stressors, such as UV radiation and pollution. While fresh tomatoes contain lycopene, tomato paste is even more potent, as it’s made from the ripest, deepest-red tomatoes.

Quick and Easy Recipe

According to an article in Freundin, to make this beauty-boosting drink, add 1–2 tablespoons of organic tomato paste to a glass, mix in a level teaspoon of vegetable broth, and a few drops of cold-pressed olive oil. Pour hot water over the mixture, stir, and your drink is ready.

For an added boost, feel free to customize with herbs, spices, lemon, turmeric, or a dash of Tabasco.

Dr. Ahlemann recommends drinking this elixir daily to enjoy benefits like glowing skin, increased collagen production, improved heart health, stronger bones, and healthier eyes.
