Costco has issued a recall for its Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

The affected product was sold in Costco warehouses across the Southeastern U.S. from October 9 through October 13, 2024.

The recalled salmon has a lot number “8512801270” printed on the packaging. Customers with this product are advised to dispose of it immediately or return it to any Costco location for a full refund.

Listeria Risk and Symptoms

Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection particularly dangerous for pregnant individuals, seniors, and those with weakened immune systems.

Symptoms of listeriosis may include fever, muscle aches, nausea, and diarrhea. Severe symptoms for at-risk groups can also include headaches, confusion, convulsions, and loss of balance.

If you have recently consumed this salmon and are experiencing any of these symptoms, seek medical attention right away.

Listeria bacteria can also spread to other foods and surfaces, so it’s essential to clean your hands, fridge, and countertops thoroughly after handling any potentially contaminated items.

For questions about the recall, contact Acme Smoked Fish Corp. at (718) 383-8585 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST. Costco members can also reach out to customer service for additional support.
