If you're a Costco shopper, you may want to double-check your pantry and kitchen.

As reported by EatingWell, several recent product recalls have been issued for canned tuna, cold and flu medicine, and even coolers, all due to potential safety risks.

Canned Tuna Recalled

A manufacturing defect has led to the recall of multiple brands of canned tuna, including Genova’s 7-ounce Yellowfin Tuna in Olive Oil.

The affected six-packs were sold at Costco warehouses in Florida and Georgia and have the UPC code 4800063267 with best-by dates of 1/21/2028, 1/23/2028, or 1/27/2028.

The defect may have compromised the cans' seals, allowing bacteria like Clostridium botulinum to grow.

This could lead to botulism, a dangerous foodborne illness with symptoms including muscle weakness, difficulty swallowing, blurred vision, and breathing problems.

If you have this product at home, return it to Costco or dispose of it immediately.

Kirkland Cold & Flu Medicine Recall

Costco has also recalled its Kirkland Signature Severe Cold & Flu Plus Congestion tablets due to possible foreign matter contamination.

While specifics of the contamination remain unclear, affected packages have a lot code of P140082.

The medicine was sold between October 30 and November 30, 2024, but as a shelf-stable product, it may still be in your medicine cabinet.

If you have this product, check the lot code and return it to Costco.

Igloo Cooler Recall After Fingertip Amputations

Over one million Igloo 90-quart Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers—sold at Costco, Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and other major retailers—have been recalled due to safety hazards.

The tow handle design has caused at least 12 reported injuries, including fingertip amputations, bone fractures, and deep cuts. The affected coolers were manufactured between August 2018 and December 2023 and sold from January 2019 through January 2025.

If you own one of these coolers, contact Igloo to request a free repair kit before using it again.
