If Johnsonville Cheddar Bratwurst is a staple in your fridge or freezer, you’ll want to check the label.
More than 22,000 pounds of the product are being recalled due to possible contamination with hard plastic, according to an announcement from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The recall affects specific five-piece, 19-ounce packages of cheddar bratwurst that may contain pieces of plastic—posing a potential choking hazard or injury risk.
The issue was brought to light following two consumer complaints, which led Johnsonville, LLC, to voluntarily recall the product as a safety precaution.
