A recall has been issued for two types of Jean Perrin cheese sold across multiple Canadian provinces due to potential E. coli contamination, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced.

The affected products include Morbier de Scey and Raclette de Scey, which may have also been sold without labeling at certain stores.

If you have recently purchased these cheeses, check with your retailer to confirm if your product is part of the recall.

The recalled cheeses include:

  • Jean Perrin Morbier de Scey with UPC 3324440317786, lot number 35112, and best-before date 06/03/2025

  • Jean Perrin Raclette de Scey with UPC 3324440418896, lot number 35511, and best-before date 10/03/2025

These products were sold in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Quebec, with possible distribution in other provinces and territories. The recall has also been extended to France and Hong Kong.

Consumers are advised to immediately dispose of the affected cheese or return it to the store for a refund.

While no illnesses have been reported, E. coli infection can cause serious health issues, particularly for children, seniors, and immunocompromised individuals. Symptoms include fever, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, and diarrhea.
