Around 199,000 Vivitar Blender Bottles sold at Target stores and on Target’s website are being recalled due to a safety problem, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The recall affects bottles sold exclusively at Target stores and on Target.com between December 2024 and January 2025.

According to the CPSC, the issue stems from a defect where the blender’s blades can continue operating even when the bottle is not attached, increasing the risk of serious cuts.

While one consumer complaint has been reported regarding the malfunction, no injuries have been confirmed as of now.

How to Identify the Recalled Bottles

Consumers can identify the affected bottles by looking for the following information on a sticker underneath the base and stamped on the bottle itself:

  • Brand: VIVITAR

  • Description: Blender Bottle

  • Item Number: ES15-BB-TA

  • Code: MID #5220824

The bottles are made of white plastic and were marketed as portable blender bottles.

What to Do If You Own One

If your blender bottle matches the details listed above, you should stop using it immediately.

Consumers are instructed to contact Sakar International, the manufacturer, for a full refund.

The CPSC recommends seeking medical attention if you have experienced any injury related to the product.
