Target has issued a recall of nearly 197,808 cans of its Good & Gather Cut Green Beans, citing concerns over possible contamination with foreign matter, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

If you’ve recently purchased canned green beans from Target, you’ll want to check your pantry immediately.

What You Need to Look For

The affected product comes in 14.5-ounce cans of Good & Gather Cut Green Beans.

These cans can be identified by the UPC code 0 85239-11628 9, with a lot code of 7AA 418507 and a best-by date of October 28, 2026.

The green beans were distributed at Target stores in a wide range of states, including Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

What to Do If You Have the Product

Customers who find this product in their pantry are advised not to consume it. Instead, the can should either be safely discarded or returned to a Target store for a full refund.

The FDA has classified this as a Class II recall, meaning the product may pose a temporary health risk or cause illness or injury, though it is not expected to cause serious or life-threatening harm under normal use.

Consumers who may have already eaten the product and are experiencing any symptoms — such as discomfort, illness, or injury — should seek medical advice as soon as possible.
