Finding mold at home can ruin anyone's day. However, it's very important to 'attack' and immediately eliminate the problem. How?
Alicia Sokolowski from AspenClean, a home cleaning company quoted on Martha Stewart's website, explained everything but of course emphasizes that "if you suspect a significant mold problem in your home, it is advisable to consult a professional to assess the situation and provide guidance."
First, before starting the cleaning process, the expert advises everyone to wear a mask, gloves, and ideally, protective glasses. The list of necessary utensils includes white vinegar, water, a sponge or brush, as well as a spray bottle and a microfiber cloth.
Tips for Instantly (and Safely) Removing Mold from Walls:
"Use an old, dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe away any loose mold or debris on the surface." Dispose of it when finished;
"Mix equal parts of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle";
"Spray the vinegar and water mixture directly onto the moldy surface, letting it sit for at least 10 to 15 minutes";
"With a brush or sponge, scrub the moldy area in circular motions, making sure to cover the entire affected area";
"Rinse the surface with clean water and wipe it with a damp cloth or sponge to remove any remaining cleaning solution and mold residue";
"Ensure the cleaned area is completely dry."
