Would you like a fresh pair of sneakers for the spring season? Now might be the perfect time.
Adidas has announced plans to sell off its remaining Yeezy sneakers at cost price.
These sneakers are from their now-terminated partnership with rapper Kanye "Ye" West, a collaboration that ended in 2022 after West made anti-Semitic remarks.
The end of this partnership left Adidas with a significant inventory of high-priced Yeezy footwear.
To address this surplus, Adidas has been selling these shoes, managing to raise nearly $1.1 billion (about €1.01 billion) since May 2023, with a portion of the proceeds going to charity.
Adidas has announced that it will release more Yeezy products in the coming weeks, aiming to sell them without profit.
This move is part of Adidas's strategy to clear out the remaining Yeezy inventory, valued at $250 million (over €230 million), by the end of this year.
