Hello Cake, a Los Angeles-based startup known for its range of condoms and lubricants, is venturing into a new frontier of sexual wellness with a line of medications for female sexual dysfunction.

Includes a tablet and a topical cream

Founded just four years ago, the company is expanding its offerings to include prescription drugs designed to enhance sexual arousal and sensitivity, according to Ziare.

The new product line includes a tablet and a topical cream, both aimed at increasing blood flow to the vaginal area. The topical cream, named 0-Cream, contains sildenafil, the same active ingredient found in Viagra. This addition marks Hello Cake's move into the pharmaceutical market, following its launch of prescription medications for sexual dysfunction last year.

The company's decision to enter this market comes amid growing interest and investment in women's sexual health. According to McKinsey, the U.S. wellness market is valued at $480 billion and is expected to grow by 5-10% annually. Sexual health products have become increasingly popular, ranking as the second most purchased category after menstrual care.

Only Tewo Medications Exists

Hello Cake co-founder Mitch Orkis highlighted a significant disparity in investment between treatments for male and female sexual dysfunctions. While numerous treatments have been developed for men, options for women remain limited.

Currently, only two FDA-approved medications exist for female sexual dysfunction: Addyi, a daily pill costing $742 per month, and Vyleesi, an injectable priced at approximately $1,000 per dose. In contrast, Hello Cake's new medications are priced at $54 for six doses.

Orkis explained that the company's new offerings were driven by consumer feedback, revealing that many women face issues with mismatched sexual desires. With the launch of its prescription medications, Hello Cake aims to meet this demand and potentially replicate the success of Viagra, which saw over $400 million in sales within its first three months.
