Carter has a goal that keeps him motivated: casting his vote

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, now 99, is in poor health and has been under palliative care for several months. Whether he will reach his 100th birthday on October 1 remains uncertain.

Determined to Vote

Despite his frail condition, Carter has a goal that keeps him motivated: casting his vote for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, according to Tag24.

Jimmy Carter, who served as the 39th President from 1977 to 1981, has expressed his determination to vote in the upcoming election. According to the "Atlanta Journal-Constitution," when asked by his son if he aims to reach his 100th birthday, Carter replied, "I’m trying to hang on so I can vote for Kamala Harris."

Carter's determination to participate in the electoral process comes after a challenging year. He had to bid farewell to his beloved wife, Rosalynn Carter, who passed away last year at the age of 96 after 77 years of marriage.

Other Living Presidents

The presidential election in the United States is set for November 5, traditionally held on a Tuesday. Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate, will be facing Republican candidate Donald Trump.

Trump has recently been critical of Harris, referring to her as "dumb" and alleging she has a "really low IQ." He has also called her a "radical left freak" and they are currently negotiating a date for a TV debate.

Apart from Jimmy Carter and Donald Trump, other former Presidents still living include Bill Clinton (77, Democrat), George W. Bush (78, Republican), and Barack Obama (63, Democrat). The last former president to pass away was George H.W. Bush (Republican) in 2018 at the age of 94.
