Next year was supposed to determine whether gynecologist George Tyndall would spend the rest of his life in prison. Now he is dead.
Hundreds of women have come forward to the police with allegations of sexual abuse against the 76-year-old gynecologist. He never received his verdict.
The American gynecologist and university doctor George Tyndall, who had previously been reported for sexual abuse of more than 100 patients, has been found dead.
This was reported by The New York Times.
George Tyndall was found dead in his home in Los Angeles on Wednesday, according to his lawyer. A friend found him lifeless in bed. The cause of death has not been revealed. The gynecologist was 76 years old.
George Tyndall was supposed to go to court next year. The decision was to be made on whether the gynecologist would spend the rest of his life in prison. Over a period of 27 years, no fewer than 400 women have come forward to the Los Angeles Police with allegations of sexual abuse. And out of them, over 100 have reported him.
In 2019, he was charged with having abused young women in at least 16 cases in his clinic at the University of Southern California. During routine checks and doctor visits, the gynecologist inappropriately touched the young students and made harassing remarks, according to the women who reported the gynecologist in 2018.
And now the women will never get justice. This is the opinion of one of the gynecologist's victims, Audry L. Nafziger. She has previously expressed frustration that it has taken so long for George Tyndall to receive his punishment, especially because of his advanced age.
"Why did it take so long? It's really sad that we won't get justice. His death does not remove the damage he has inflicted on his victims," she told The New York Times after his death.
