Ukrainian authorities have activated air-raid warnings across the country due to the threat of Russian ballistic missile strikes.
Explosions have been reported in Poltava and Kropyvnytskyi, according to Ukraine's Air Force and the national broadcaster Suspilne.
The Air Force issued a specific warning, stating, 'Kirovohrad, Poltava, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv oblasts are under threat from ballistic weapons! Central and eastern oblasts are also facing a ballistic missile threat!'"
Following the warnings, Suspilne confirmed that explosions had been heard in the cities of Poltava and Kropyvnytskyi.
Adding to the situation, the Air Force disclosed that a MiG-31K fighter jet, equipped to carry the advanced Kinzhal missile, had been launched from Russia's Savasleyka airfield in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.
This development prompted a nationwide air-raid alert.
