A Nürnberger auction platform is set to auction off more than 50,000 items used during the Olympic Games in Paris this year.
Sofas, Massage Tables and more
Among the unique offerings are deck chairs, barriers, umbrellas, and even furnishings from an athlete's salon.
Fabian Altrichter, the managing director of the auction company "Restlos," confirmed that the first wave of items has already arrived at their warehouse in Nürnberg.
These include items such as umbrellas and lounge chairs adorned with the Olympic logo, sofas, massage tables, and even gaming machines that were used during the games, according to Tag24
Due to the enormous quantity of items, Altrichter explained that they will distribute the items across various locations. “We receive daily inquiries from interested parties,” he added, highlighting the significant interest in the memorabilia.
Kick Off in Mid September
The online auction is scheduled to kick off around mid-September, giving sports fans a chance to own a piece of Olympic history. Additionally, a portion of the items will be donated to the charity "Der Goldene Ring," which actively supports young athletic talent in Nürnberg through scholarships.
The organization plans to auction off the donated items to further support their initiatives.
"Restlos" is recognized as one of the leading companies in the field of repurposing used industrial goods, specializing in the acquisition of assets from bankrupt businesses and dissolved entities.
The request to auction these Olympic items came from the U.S.-based auction house B-Stock Solutions LLC and RGS Events Ltd., the official supplier for the Olympic Games, which discovered the Nürnberger auction platform through its own research.
