Romanian authorities have taken significant action against Andrew and Tristan Tate, seizing multiple luxury vehicles as part of a human trafficking investigation.
16 Luxury Cars
The Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) alleges that the Tate brothers, along with members of their criminal organization, recruited 34 women since 2015 and forced them to produce pornographic content for profit on various platforms, according to Ziare.
The legal action involves a total of 16 luxury cars and one motorcycle, with several vehicles already impounded. DIICOT's investigation reveals that the Tate brothers established an organized criminal group in Romania in 2015, which expanded to include a foreign female suspect in 2016 and another Romanian female suspect in September 2021.
They allegedly employed a method known as "loverboy" to exploit vulnerable women, transporting them to different locations where they were coerced into creating pornographic material.
A lot of Different Currency
According to DIICOT, the profits from this exploitation have been estimated at over $2.8 million and 887,000 tokens. One of the Tate brothers is specifically accused of generating approximately $1.5 million from a minor, a 17-year-old foreign citizen, whom he allegedly lured and exploited.
The investigation also suggests that the Tates used intimidation tactics to prevent their victims from speaking out or providing false testimonies. In an effort to conceal the illegal origins of their profits, the brothers reportedly purchased four luxury cars in the names of associates between December 2023 and July 2024.
In addition to the cars, authorities recovered approximately €26,000, 81,000 lei, £5,800, and $6,400 during their searches, along with luxury watches, laptops, storage devices, and other evidence. Andrew Tate is currently under house arrest, while Tristan Tate is under judicial supervision. The charges they face include forming an organized criminal group, human trafficking, trafficking minors, sexual acts with a minor, money laundering, and influencing testimonies.
