U.S. President Joe Biden has weighed in on Ukraine's surprise military offensive in Russia's Kursk region, describing it as a "real dilemma" for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Speaking to journalists at the New Orleans airport, Biden acknowledged that Washington is in close and constant contact with Kyiv as the situation unfolds.
"I've been talking to my staff regularly, maybe every four or five hours for the last six or eight days... This creates a real dilemma for Putin," Biden said, according to The New York Post.
While the U.S. president did not share specific details, he emphasized the ongoing communication between U.S. officials and their Ukrainian counterparts.
This is the first time Biden has publicly commented on Ukraine's military action in the Kursk region.
U.S. officials from the White House, Pentagon, and State Department have consistently stated that Ukraine has the right to defend itself against threats emanating from Russia.
