President Joe Biden has condemned a possible assassination attempt on Donald Trump and directed his team to ensure that the Secret Service has everything required to protect the former president.

Biden’s statement, published by the White House, emphasizes that federal law enforcement is actively investigating the incident, which is being treated as a potential assassination attempt.

Biden praised the work of the Secret Service and law enforcement for their quick response.

"I commend the work of the Secret Service and their law enforcement partners for their vigilance and efforts to keep the former president and those around him safe," Biden stated, as cited by Ukrinform.

He expressed relief that Trump was not harmed and reiterated his stance against political violence: "There is no place for political violence or any violence in our country."

The president also noted that the investigation is ongoing, with law enforcement gathering more details about the incident.

Biden has instructed his team to continue ensuring that the Secret Service has all the necessary resources to maintain Trump's safety.

On Sunday, a shooting occurred near Donald Trump's residence at a golf club in West Palm Beach, prompting Trump to be moved to a safe location. The Trump campaign confirmed the incident, and law enforcement later found an AK-47 near the scene.

The suspect, identified as 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh, was arrested and is suspected of intending to assassinate Trump. Routh reportedly had prior legal issues.
