President Joe Biden is set to have a crucial meeting with top congressional leaders, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, at the White House this Tuesday.

According to Bloomberg, the main goal of this meeting is to release a significant amount of emergency aid for allies, notably Ukraine, and to prevent the US government from shutting down.

The White House announced, "Biden will discuss the urgency of passing the bipartisan national security supplemental and keeping the government open."

Leaders such as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries are confirmed to join the discussions.

This meeting comes at a critical time as internal US reports warn of a severe shortfall in ammunition and air defense equipment for Ukraine by the upcoming spring.
