Luana Andrade, a well-known Brazilian influencer with over half a million Instagram followers, tragically passed away at the age of 29 due to complications from a liposuction procedure.
Andrade gained fame through her appearance on the reality show 'Power Couple Brasil 6' in 2022, alongside her partner João Hadad, who himself is a social media influencer with nearly a million followers.
The couple's presence on the show solidified their status as prominent figures in Brazilian entertainment.
Sudden Medical Emergency
During the liposuction procedure on November 7th at a São Paulo hospital, Andrade suffered a severe pulmonary embolism.
Despite the medical team's efforts to revive her after a heart attack two and a half hours into the operation, Andrade was transferred to the ICU, where she later succumbed to her condition around 5:30 am local time.
Liposuction, although commonly performed, carries risks including the increased potential for blood clots. These clots typically start in the leg and can travel to the lungs, causing a blockage in blood flow—a condition known as pulmonary embolism, which was the official cause of Andrade's death.
A Mourning Partner and Public Outcry
João Hadad took to Instagram to express his grief, describing the loss as living through his worst nightmare. "A part of me has died with you," he wrote, paying tribute to Andrade as his princess and beauty.
