Manhattan Toy has issued a recall for its Brilliant Bee Rattles due to a significant safety concern.

Choking Hazard

According to CPSC the recall involves a risk that the wooden base can detach from the wooden rod, releasing three small plastic rings that could pose a choking hazard to young children.

The affected product is the Manhattan Toy Brilliant Bee Rattle, which features a light-up plastic bee attached to a wooden rod and base. It includes three plastic rings on the rod and a baby-safe mirror on the bottom of the base.

The model number “166700 CQ” is printed on the base of the toy, which measures approximately seven inches tall and four inches wide.

Immediate Action

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled rattles and keep them out of reach of children.

They can return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund or contact Manhattan Toy for instructions on how to return the product and receive a refund. Proof of purchase is not required.

No incidents or injuries have been reported related to this recall. The rattles were sold at independent specialty toy stores nationwide and online at www.manhattantoy.com from May 2024 through June 2024 for about $16.

The recall was initiated by Sassy Baby Inc., the importer based in Gonzales, Louisiana. The rattles were manufactured in China.

Parents and caregivers are urged to take immediate action to ensure the safety of their children by discontinuing the use of these rattles and seeking a refund. For further information, consumers can visit the Manhattan Toy website or contact the company directly.
