Ingrid Andress, a prominent country singer, issued a heartfelt apology on Tuesday after a disastrous rendition of the American national anthem went viral.

Trumps Ears are Bleeding

According to 20 minutes, Andress performed the anthem at a baseball game in Arlington, Texas, drawing criticism for what was dubbed the "worst interpretation in history."

The singer's rendition was marred by off-key notes and a faltering delivery, prompting widespread mockery on social media.

One user humorously remarked that "Trump's ears are bleeding again," referencing a notorious assassination attempt on the former president.

I Was Drunk

Facing backlash, Andress took to Instagram to address the incident.

"No lies, I was drunk last night," confessed the 32-year-old singer, announcing her immediate entry into a detox program. "That wasn't me last night," she added, extending apologies to the baseball league, fans, and her country, albeit with a touch of humor. "I'll keep you updated on how rehab goes, I hear it's super fun."

Despite the mishap, Andress remains a respected figure in the American music scene. Known for her songwriting prowess, she released her debut album "Lady Like" in 2020, earning three Grammy Award nominations.

While this incident adds to a history of publicly mangled performances of "The Star-Spangled Banner," notably by Fergie in 2018 during a basketball game, Andress's swift admission and humor in addressing the matter may yet help soften the blow.
