Hezbollah fired a series of rockets into northern Israel, prompting Israel to respond with drone strikes that reportedly killed two Hezbollah members.

The escalating violence has led to warnings from Israel's Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, who cautioned the Shiite militia about provoking a war "that has never happened in the past."

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that two people were killed in the town of Taibe, believed to be members of Hezbollah, following an Israeli drone strike. The Israeli military confirmed targeting Hezbollah operatives in the area.

On Sunday, Israeli forces conducted additional strikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, while numerous rockets were fired from Lebanon into Israeli territory.

So far, there have been no reports of injuries.

According to Der Spiegel, Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for the attacks, stating they were in retaliation for Israel's killing of their military commander, Fuad Shukri.

The Israeli military reported that about 30 rockets were fired towards the town of Kabri, near the coastal city of Nahariya. Some of the rockets landed in open areas, causing no damage.

Hezbollah said the attacks targeted an Israeli military base.

Since the October 7 terrorist attack, Hezbollah has increased its attacks on Israel in solidarity with Hamas, leading to the most intense fighting in the border region since the 2006 Lebanon war. This has forced tens of thousands of people to flee the area.

With tensions rising, Defense Minister Gallant warned Iran and Hezbollah against further retaliation.

"Anyone who harms us in a way that hasn't happened before will likely be hit in a way that hasn't happened before," Gallant said, stressing Israel's resolve to defend itself.

Gallant also expressed hope that Iran and Hezbollah would reconsider their actions to avoid further escalation.

"We don't want that, but we need to be prepared," he added.
