Elon Musk continues to make waves with his bold decisions and future plans.
Known for reshaping industries, Musk has now shared more details about the massive staff cuts he implemented after buying Twitter, now rebranded as X.
In addition, he has revealed ambitions for a new role in government, further expanding his influence beyond the tech world.
In a late-night post on X, Musk confirmed that he had let go of 80% of the company’s workforce, according to Digi24.
The post responded to a meme claiming that firing 90% of Twitter’s staff allowed the platform to run more efficiently.
Musk corrected the figure but supported the premise, writing, "It’s closer to 80%, but the goal is the same."
These layoffs followed Musk’s earlier promise to overhaul Twitter’s operations and workforce during his acquisition.
Musk’s plans are not limited to X. He has announced intentions to serve as an "Advisor on Government Efficiency" in a potential Trump administration.
This position would focus on drastically reducing federal spending, including cuts to the number of public employees.
Musk, who supported Trump in the last presidential election, adheres to libertarian ideals. He advocates for smaller government and greater individual freedom, particularly in economic policies.
As part of his proposed reforms, Musk has expressed a desire to reduce funding for what he describes as overly progressive organizations.
He estimates that his efficiency measures could save over $2 trillion, or about one-third of the federal budget.
At X, Musk’s cost-cutting measures reflect his broader philosophy of efficiency and minimalism.
Despite significant workforce reductions, Musk argues that the platform continues to function well, aligning with his vision of achieving more with less.
