A major emergency operation is underway following an explosion at an explosives manufacturing facility near Cologne on Friday morning, writes Tag24.

The blast occurred around 9:30 a.m., seriously injuring two workers, aged 26 and 62, both from Cologne. According to police spokesman Stefan Birk, while the injuries are severe, their lives are not in danger.
