The Kremlin has indicated that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not intend to congratulate Finland's President-Elect Alexander Stubb on his election victory.
Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the Russian leader, explained in response to a question from URA.RU that:
"Finland is one of the countries unfriendly to Russia."
"At present, Finland is among the countries unfriendly to Russia. It has fully joined the sanctions. The statements of the new president are quite unfriendly in nature," Peskov elaborated.
The presidential elections in Finland have concluded, with former Prime Minister Alexander Stubb emerging as the new leader of the country.
Stubb had previously stated that he does not plan to develop relations with Russia.
