On September 12, a fire broke out at the Omsk Transport Engineering Plant (Omsktransmash) in Russia, affecting approximately 50 square meters of the facility's roof.

The fire reportedly started in one of the workshops during repair work, sending thick smoke across various parts of Omsk.

Omsk Transport Engineering Plant plays a key role in producing military equipment for the Russian military, including flamethrower systems, armored personnel carriers, T-72B3 and T-80U tanks, and armored repair vehicles.

The plant is currently subject to international sanctions.

Despite the fire, local authorities have confirmed that production at the plant has not been affected.

Omsk Region Governor Vitaly Khotsenko stated that there have been no casualties.

"Specialists are on-site managing the situation," Khotsenko announced, as cited by local news outlets.

Further details are still being clarified.
