According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Russia has set fire to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in the Ukrainian city of Enerhodar, which is under Russian control, on Sunday.

The president writes this on X, where he also shares a video of what he calls a Russian attack on the nuclear power plant.

According to Zelensky, the video was recorded from the Ukrainian city of Nikopol, from where a strong column of smoke can be seen rising from one of the power plant's cooling towers.

He states that the radioactive radiation is not currently above normal levels, but that the situation is not and should not be normal as long as the Russians are in control of the nuclear power plant.

However, according to Reuters, the Russian management at the nuclear power plant claims that it is a Ukrainian attack on the facility that has started the fire. Furthermore, they emphasize that the situation remains under control.
