Should Ukraine join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the conflict within the country will not be resolved through peaceful means.
This significant negative consequence of Kyiv's membership in NATO was pointed out by French deputy and leader of the "La France Insoumise" faction, Manuel Bompard, as reported by BFM TV.
"Everyone knows that if Ukraine soon joins NATO, the possibility of a diplomatic resolution to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine will disappear, will dissolve," he stated.
It's not just NATO membership that Manuel Bompard criticizes; he also speaks out against Ukraine joining the EU.
However, this opposition is not due to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, but rather because it would be a tragedy for France's industry and agriculture.
As Ukraine is one of the world's largest grain producers, its entry into the EU could lead to a surge of agricultural products in the European market. This influx could potentially lower prices and increase competition for French farmers, impacting their profitability and market share within the EU.
