It's been almost ten years since Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher was last seen in public. Following a devastating skiing accident in 2013, details about his condition have been closely guarded by his family and close friends. However, occasional glimpses into his well-being are revealed.
In a recent interview with Blick, Roger Benoit, a journalist and friend of Schumacher, offered a rare look into the situation. He cited a statement from Schumacher's son, Mick, who said, "I would do anything to talk to my dad." According to Benoit, this comment speaks volumes about the grim outlook for Schumacher's recovery.
Previously, in a 2021 documentary, Schumacher's wife, Corinna, opened up about the emotional toll on the family. She stated that they miss Michael every day but emphasized, "He's here, he's different, but he's here, and that gives us strength."
Mick Schumacher, who is also carving out a career in motorsports, added that he and his father "would have so much more to talk about now," further highlighting the emotional struggle the family faces.
Adding a personal touch, Roger Benoit, who has known Schumacher since 1991, shared an anecdote about their friendship. He mentioned that Schumacher owes him a dinner, a promise made under happier circumstances.
"He'll probably owe it to me forever," Benoit said.
Since the 2013 accident, where he hit his head against a rock and fell into a coma, Michael Schumacher has undergone multiple surgeries. He is now at home, accessible only to immediate family members. The family has repeatedly emphasized their desire to protect his privacy, leaving only a select few aware of his exact condition.
