Israeli forces have uncovered fresh tunnel networks in the Gaza Strip, military spokesman Daniel Hagari announced on Saturday.
These discoveries come amidst escalating tensions in the region, with significant implications for both security and humanitarian concerns.
A Strategic Find in Zeitoun
According to Hagari, the newly identified underground pathways located in Zeitoun, at the heart of the Gaza Strip, were reportedly being primed by Hamas for potential attacks.
In a robust response, the Israeli military launched a large-scale operation in Zeitoun, claiming to have neutralized thirty Hamas militants.
During these operations, Israeli forces also stumbled upon an arsenal of weapons hidden within a local school, further intensifying the gravity of their find.
Another tunnel was reported near Rafah in the southern part of the strip.
Further military actions included airstrikes in northern Gaza later the same evening.
Hagari emphasized that precautions were taken to evacuate civilians prior to these strikes, reflecting ongoing efforts to mitigate civilian casualties amidst military responses.
Hamas's Continued Efforts and Israel's Resolve
Hagari noted that Hamas has been attempting to regroup militarily in recent weeks.
"Whenever we detect such efforts from Hamas, we will take action," he stated,
