Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold his annual direct Q&A session closer to the New Year, as announced by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, according to Lenta.
Closer to New Year
The event will likely be combined with Putin's large annual press conference, Peskov added.
"This will take place in winter, closer to the New Year. It will be a comprehensive informational event. As of now, we anticipate a combined format, similar to last year," Peskov stated.
The Kremlin representative highlighted that the format of the direct Q&A session with Putin remains relevant. This interactive session allows Russian citizens to pose questions directly to the president, addressing various national and international issues.
Insights to Russias Strategy
The last direct Q&A with President Putin occurred in December 2023, which was also merged with his traditional press conference. During the 2023 session, Putin fielded a wide range of questions from both Russian citizens and journalists. Topics covered included the country's economic challenges, the impact of Western sanctions, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, and Russia's foreign relations.
Notably, Putin emphasized Russia's resilience in the face of international pressure and outlined several key domestic policy initiatives aimed at improving the nation's economic stability and social welfare.
The upcoming event is expected to follow a similar structure, offering insights into Russia's strategic direction and policy priorities as the year concludes. This combined format aims to streamline the communication process, making it more efficient for the media and the public.
Putin's year-end press conference has historically been a significant event, drawing attention from both domestic and international audiences. It serves as an opportunity for the president to outline his administration's achievements over the past year and to set the agenda for the coming year.
